HealingAfterLoss.Org Privacy Policy

HealingAfterLoss.Org respects the privacy of our members and all visitors to our web site.

Providing Visitors with Anonymous Access
You can access our Web site without disclosing your personal data. You are not required to allow cookies or to register to visit our site or to read the messages on our public message boards.

Protecting Member Privacy
We ask for minimal personal data when visitors register for our Community, which includes a valid email address. Information provided by you will never be sold, rented, exchanged or otherwise disclosed to any other organization. Period.

Should you ever wish to be removed from one of our chat reminder lists, please simply reply to the reminder with "remove" in the subject line, and you will be removed.

Any information you include in a message you post to our message boards is freely available to anyone with Internet access. The chat rooms are available to all of our registered members.

If you don't want people to know your email address, for example, don't include it in any message you post publicly on the message boards or in a chat room.

Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal data or accept Community registrations from children under the age of 13. The Children's Online Protection Policy Act (COPPA) prohibits websites, including HealingAfterLoss.Org, from soliciting or recording the email addresses or other information of children under the age of 13 without parental or guardian consent. Rather than implementing an age verification system to comply with COPPA, HealingAfterLoss.Org will not knowingly accept registrations by individuals aged 12 or under.

Automatic Collection of Information

We only collect the personal data that you may volunteer while using our services.

This Community uses cookies to store the following information: the last time you logged in, your login identification, and your preferred "topic view." These cookies are stored on your browser. If your browser does not support cookies, or you have not enabled cookies on your browser, you will not be able to post new messages or log into the chat rooms. We also automatically log non-personal information (IP addresses) for technical administrative purposes.

Confidentiality / Security
We have implemented security policies, rules and technical measures to the extent that is possible without the use of a secure transmission method to protect the personal data that we have under our control from:
  • unauthorized access
  • improper use or disclosure
  • unauthorized modification
  • unlawful destruction or accidental loss

All our staff and volunteers who have access to the personal data are obliged to respect the confidentiality of our visitors' personal data. We ensure that your personal data will not be disclosed to state institutions and authorities except if required by law.
